Hill Logan Limited was established in February 2003 to provide support services to organisations operating in the fields of health and social care, originally with an emphasis on alcohol, drugs and mental health. The specific areas of expertise of the two directors are in devising, establishing and providing management support including service design, needs assessment and evaluation. A major strand of our work is concerned with the writing and delivery of both bespoke and established training courses.

Hill Logan provides effective, flexible answers to the training and managerial needs of customers in the social, economic and community development fields at a regional and national level. We offer through training and facilitation a range of practical, focused solutions designed to improve staff skills, service management, client outcomes and service development. Services include organisational review, business needs analysis, feasibility studies, strategic planning and development.

Directors

ELISABETH HILL has a wide range of experience in both the statutory and voluntary sectors. She has had considerable experience of re-structuring the membership and function of groups to meet changing needs of public and voluntary sector organisations. In addition to developing a range of custom-made training materials she was co-author with Marion Logan of the Training for Trainers module currently being delivered by STRADA (Scottish Training for Drugs and Alcohol). A co-tutor on the University of Glasgow’s Certificate in Addictions, she worked as a training co-ordinator for the former Agricultural Training Board and is a qualified workplace training assessor in the catering industry. She has extensive experience of market and social research including conducting face to face and telephone interviews and facilitating focus groups. Lis was awarded the OBE in 2000 for services in the fields of Drugs, Alcohol and Mental Health.

MARION LOGAN has worked in the drug and alcohol field since 1987 and has been employed in both statutory and voluntary drug services. After a period as a project worker she moved into the training field. She has experience of writing and delivering a range of both accredited and non-accredited courses and seminars. In recent years she has become more involved in designing and developing services and contributing to the writing and implementation of local, regional and national action plans. Her most recent employment is as co-ordinator of Forth Valley Substance Action Team and she has been a co-tutor on the on the University of Glasgow’s Certificate in Addictions. An honours graduate of the University of Glasgow, her postgraduate qualifications include the Diploma in Alcohol Studies and the Certificate in Education (Adult & Continuing Education).
